Hi, I’m Eamonn O’Brien

I’m an Irish road tripper, outdoor explorer, and travel expert based in the stunning city of Granada, at the foot of Spain’s Sierra Nevada National Park. I’ve lived and worked in 9 countries across Europe, Asia, and Oceania, and I’ve explored more than 60 around the world—but it’s the raw beauty of Spain and Portugal that keeps pulling me back.

My story with Iberia began in 2008, when I was living in the Algarve, Portugal, working with TUI—one of the largest travel companies in the world. In 2009, I moved to Salou in Catalonia with the same company, deepening my understanding of the region’s culture and landscapes. I later spent time living in Barcelona and Alicante before finally finding my home in Granada, where the mountains, Mediterranean, and Moorish soul of Spain meet. Since moving to Spain full-time in 2017, I’ve logged over 100,000 km on the road, exploring the entire Iberian Peninsula. From secret snorkeling coves and sleepy stone villages to high alpine passes and forgotten trails, I’ve been on a mission to uncover the hidden side of Spain and Portugal—the version that most tourists never get to see. I’m also an avid hiker and mountain athlete. I’ve summited the highest peaks of the Sierra Nevada—above 3,300 meters—more than 20 times. When I’m not on the road, you’ll find me snowboarding fresh powder, trail running through pine forests, scuba diving off the Spanish coast, or mountain biking down rugged paths. If you’re looking to explore Spain and Portugal in a more meaningful way—away from the crowds and close to the land—I can help you plan a journey you won’t forget. This isn’t just about travel. It’s about freedom, discovery, and connection.
